I think Kevin Caffrey once said: "But I have to ask, has BS ever written
a song that sounds different from any of his other songs?"

Do these sound different? Looks different at least:

Interesting - the players (other than the drummer) do not seem to emote much in these videos. Indeed, the songs have that signature BS sound. That crunchy compressed sound is right there. BS must really like Carvin guitars, seems he always uses that one axe (a TL60?). I wonder if he would sound very different with another guitar - or is the sound more due to his rig and playing style in general?

I thought the name "Emote" was perhaps being cynical... I don't know,
maybe it's some sort of pun on the "emo" style of music? The lead singer
just kind of sings, strums, smiles, and looks from side to side once in
a while. I didn't notice the other players... At least Billy *not* being
the 'frontman' is easier on the eyes. ;)

But wait, there's more! Billy just released another solo album, this one
for download only. Yep, it sounds like his other solo albums. If you
like them, you'll probably like this. If you think they all sound the
same, you'll probably think that about this one too.

Maybe he has an endorsement deal with Carvin? I think he has one with
Spector for his 8-string bass.

All BS solo stuff sounds exactly the same, so at least with this it sounds a little better to my ears with the female singer and some "new blood" that he is working with.

Check out "The Prog Collection" where Billy gets some of the best "Prog" musicians to back him up. Nice CD of varied material.

There are two CDs by "The Prog Collective" (self-titled & _Epilogue_) as
well as one called "The Fusion Syndicate", all written & produced by
Sherwood over the last couple of years. It sounds like that's what you
mean...?

The material is okay but it still has Billy's signature production sound
all over it. If you like that sound (and several people I know don't)
then hearing the guest musicians probably makes it worth having.

I agree that the overall mix has too much echo/reverb ambiance. 90125 did the same thing but with more creative results.

Well..... I think when he started to play drums....... that was one step too far.

listen, nice bassist. For some reason, I think that the vocals on World Trade sound different than his later stuff.

I like him and all. However, there is such a thing as being "over-prolific." Is it throw enough sh#t at the wall and see if something sticks?
