I saw a new interview with Jon Anderson, wherein he reports that he has been working on some "progressive", lengthy pieces of music with "a guy I've met who lives in Sweden who's a beautiful guitarist and musician".
The interviewer asks for the name of this guy, and Jon replies: "His first name is Roine. I don't know his second name. (Laughs.) He's a wonderful guitar player".
I've read many interviews with Roine Stolt over the years, and he has mentioned Anderson in several of them, noting that JA is one of the people he would most like to perform or work with some day (these comments prior to the cruise gig of 2014). So in 2014, he gets to do a gig with JA, and start work on making some music, but JA does not know his last name yet.
Also in the same interview, there was the following exchange:
Q.) "Have you kept up with Yes' recent music at all?"
A.) "I heard snippets of a couple tracks, and I just -- I dunno. It's OK. I just lost interest. I know what they're doing, and there it is. It's not what I would do. It's not the kind of Yes I know in my head."
Most of the interview is about the project with Ponty:
