Finishing touches?!? I can't figure out IF they're just meeting up this
year (or next), just rehearsing this year (or next), playing live dates
this year (or next), and/or writing or recording anything this year (or
next).

meanwhile, on the Inventioning facebook page, the guitar player (who seems to be organizing the whole thing) indicates that "they" passed on releasing a JA solo record in order to "take the plunge" with this "band".

seems to be organizing the whole thing) indicates that "they" passed
on releasing a JA solo record in order to "take the plunge" with this
"band".

I imagine that Jon has passed on releasing a lot of JA solo records,
without any input from this latest guitar player.

"Reportedly" Jon has so much unreleased solo material backed up that he
probably needs someone to "take the plunger" to it all, "band" or "no band".

Maybe they could call it "Jonstipation".

I CAN say that Inventioning has been in the works for a very long time. Jon and I first discussed this band in detail during one of his visits to Seattle back in 2012. Jon and I have been working together since I was in Nashville (since 2006), and we have a large pile of music that has yet to be released. In fact, we were on the verge of releasing another solo project for Jon that I was heavily involved in when we made the decision to take this plunge.

So the first question was put forward by Gerard... He asked if I would share some of my work. So I thought I would share the song that caught Jon's attention and caused him to call me and invite me to begin producing for him 8 years ago.
