We lost one of the best today. Such a brilliant muscian.
My wife just read it to me from an online CNN article. I am at a loss for words. (At first, sitting here, thinking) When I had met him after the Syn concert in Boston, I simply said, "thank you for all your music", shook his hand, and moved on. He seemed puzzled.

After a NH show, I offered to buy his after show cognac (no comments there...) ... but didn't know what to say to him sitting with him, his wife, 1 or 2 others.

His line from the one FOOW song, perhaps originally expressed elsewhere, has been a recurring motto of mine:

"The treasures of the universe are lying at your feet."

God bless, and condolences to his family.

thank goodness Jon and Chris met and started this musical adventure that so many of us have enjoyed.

in recent years, I've not been enamored with the current YES lineup...and Squire/Howe's choices, the music either...given that, I am forever grateful to Chris Squire for his part in this musical adventure.

I still remember the day I opened up Hold Out Your Hand and heard Silent Falling for the first time...

May you soar on the silent wings of freedom Mr. Squire.

Rest in Peace

I'm a bit stunned that Chris's passing is the 4th article after the lead (of Sweat's capture) on USA Today tablet edition. In its reading, it attests to his impact on bass players, as well as being the Yes keeper of the flame.

Again. God bless. Such a tremendous loss. RRHOF?

I only found out about this, this morning. There was no mention of it on the local TV news, and the paper consigned his passing to the obituary page. Very sad, very sad.
RRHOF is WAY OVERDUE!

not really. squire was a nobody just like you. the news is for
important and worthy public figures and people who contribute to
history. not bozo's who play overbearing, ponderous horse shit.

The media waited too long. ...Should have praised YES long ago. They weren't just another novelty act. They were an act of God.

RIP Chris. The pearly gates open for you! God bless.
