They also reportedly played AYAI, Long Distance & Starship Trooper

So now we have seen JA doing the "rock Vault" gig, the Todmobile gig, Transatlantic, and has been quoted recently as saying he is putting a band together for a 2014 tour. There must be many gifted players who would be happy to do the gig, so we may have the chance to see JA on the stage in a rock context once more.

Certainly some acts on this boat that I would like to see (Anathema, Riverside, Transatlantic, Bigelf). I hope JA took some time to check some of those acts out.

Ugh. Hurts the heart & ears to hear him have to drop the key so drastically. Out at one minute.

This is well worth a listen just for the guitar player and his take on some of the solo's like at about 9:30 in. Jon's not hitting those high notes anymore, but it forces him to sing with a different intensity that I really enjoy.

Jon seemed flat at the beginning of RSOG and gets it in gear as the chant progresses.

Just happy he's out there jamming.

I just read a blurb in Prog Mag that, indeed, JA did happen to hear the sounds of Anathema's set during the Prog Cruise, so he went to check it out and has become a bit of a fan. Apparently he was unfamiliar with them until hearing them play. He met Anathema and ProgMag was speculating about whether they might work together. JA would be well served to check out some of these acts, they are making some fresh music. I would personally like to hear him work with Riverside. He has the light they need, and they have the heavy darkness and loudness which could add some meat to his increasing folky soft vibe.
