Post by Steve CoxChris and his band changed my life. All thanks, and prayers for strength for Chris.
Re Sherwood: Yes has always been (awkwardly at times) in front and able
to try new things on a big level. Maybe this is another step towards an
official "The Yes Band", a multi-generational performance/creation organization?
There is a "Berlin Philharmonic", a "New York Yankees"...
It's not really the same thing. Nor are they on the leading edge of it, as
shown by the likes of Foreigner, Molly Hatchet, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and
numerous 50s doo-wop groups. I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting.
That said, I hold no animosity towards Chris Squire - I am not personally
acquainted with the man - and certainly wouldn't wish cancer on him even if
I did. I hope his treatment is successful and leads to a full recovery.
Speaking just for myself, I'm not especially interested in seeing Yes
without Squire; his bass is too essential an ingredient of their sound.
