JonD as a singer, fine; JonD as a lyricist/songwriter, not so much.

He does handle the back catalog material much more effectively than
"JonC" (*C*anadian) or "JonB" (*B*uggle) ever did. (Those two fared
better in the studio than live.)

I also liked JonD's previous work with Glass Hammer, but given the
evidence on _H&E_, I suspect he was not the primary lyricist on the
tracks of theirs that I enjoyed the most.

He's an improvement over Benoit. And on some select classic tunes, he does a yeoman's job of imitating Anderson.

Had hopes he would bring some writing chops to the band, but his input turned out to be rather uninspiring lyrically and musically.

That he allows this group to continue to tour and seemingly at least bring the reputation of YES down is unfortunate in my opinion. But hey, there are fans enjoying the ongoing tours, so YES will continue on...for those fans, Davison is a big hit.

In a recent interview, he said that when the band's management called to ask him about joining the band, he asked about the audition. "no audition, the tours already been booked." Well, that says a lot I think about the current outfit. Bringing a singer in without trying him out at all...

But to those who are enjoying H&E and the tour, my hats off to ya! I just can't find it in me to pay to see this version

I still don't understand why they didn't just ask Terry Luttrell...

Why in heaven & earth would Terry quit his job as a FedEx driver to sing
for Yes?

(It is kind of funny that the reporter seems oblivious to Terry's four
albums with Starcastle after leaving REO.)

I'm not so merciless on Jon Davison.

I've found Glass Hammer's CDs to be, well, recycled ideas.

Jon's work on H&E is great. Orders of magnitude above Glass Hammer.

Not anyone I have come across seems to think so...... I have heard rumors of a positive Yes newsgroup somewhere...... Godot is coming to give me the url.

The three guys trying to keep the positive Yes Newsgroup going saw a DVD of Rush' Clockwork Angels tour. It was too much, "Look it's the original members, playing with fire and purpose."

The newsgroup collapsed on itself after that as the Three Yesketeers kept changing the subject to talk about Rush, new prog bands and the classic YES period.

I found the new Yes boring. I didn't hate it, per se, but there wasn't anything I could point to and say I want to listen to again. I even found bits and pieces of Fly From Here enjoyable, but not all. Then again, that was mostly recycled Drama ideas and I liked Drama.
