I wouldn't say Yes deserves it more than Chicago.

I also think there were plenty of acts who should have gotten in before
Steve Miller. Even if you limit the field to '70s-FM names. Start with
Jethro Tull.

And I like Cheap Trick, but I wasn't really expecting them to get the
nod over Nine Inch Nails, Yes, etc.

LOL... Chicago doesn't deserve to be there. They made lousy soft rock music from Day 1. Yes even Chicago Transit Authority has boring smooth jazz rock.

Yes deserves it more than any of the ones inducted. Glad that Deep Purple finally got in.

And I have a 2 year old daughter too. I have been expanding my horzons quite a lot recently but still do not like smooth, soft or watered down music like Chicago, Steely Dan, Foreigner, Journey, Bad Company, Eagles etc.

Have you heard early Chicago? They were fairly progressive on the early albums, not like the Chicago of the 80's... And Steely Dan? One of the best bands of all time, Imo...

They don't allow bands that may be considered holy. Come Together Over Me...isn't part of their program. This cult mocks the real heavy heads.
