YAY!
They deserved it all along... now my top 5 popular rock bands - Led
Zeppelin, Yes, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple are all in....
Of course I like a lot of not so popular bands like Caravan,
Hawkwind, etc. But they will never make it to HOF and I can understand
that... but Yes not making it was unforgivable!

Nothing memorable about this group.
Yep, especially when you are deaf. If you like the Beatles, you would
like stuff like I've Seen All Good People, Roundabout and Long
Distance Runaround.

I love the Beatles but that doesn't mean I like Yes. Roundabout is the
only memorable song they recorded, and it's just okay.
PeeWee looking for any possible way to have someone respond to his
insipid posts.

Today he tries arguing with Raja.

Tomorrow he will try talking about how ill he is so everyone will feel
sorry for him.

Loser.

Any of their music you would like me to listen to?
Yeah, they have a song called "Get a Fuckin' Life, Loser" which would be
perfect for you.

No. You ask this question from time to time, but as far as I can tell
your taste is cast in concrete and it never broadens to include
anything else. Don't bother yourself. Stick with Badfinger and
Raspberries.
I'll stick with whatever I want without your permission. Some 10 posts
back until a recent one, you decided to get nasty with me. Since you
obviously have a problem with what I post, don't bother to respond to
me. I'm sorry if you're having problems in your personal life, but don't
take it out on me. I don't act nasty to you.
Here comes the drama again. Jeffie actually asks for songs to listen to,
Nil tells him to forget about it and now Jeffie gets all bent out of
shape like a Clintard snowflake.

So only three days into 2017 Jeffie starts with the pathos brought about
by his own bathos.

The best line being: "I'm sorry if you're having problems in your
personal life, but don't take it out on me." Classic ridiculous Jeffie
line considering he reports his death every few weeks and resurrects
himself after nobody gives a shit only to continue to take it out on the
group with his inane questions.

And you thought politicians had no shame...

Silly me to expect any news, congrats, even theories of line ups. My only call would be it took Chris to pass away for the band to be "honored".

Over a month away on personal retreat.... and some things never change.

We also lost Lake last month. I guess they'll wait until Palmer kicks the bucket before anything happens.

ELP is so hated among non-prog fans that I highly doubt they will ever get in, even though they deserve to. Even King Crimson might get in earlier even though they were always a cult band and were never popular like ELP (except for the debut which had Lake in the lineup).

I would advocate for Moody Blues to get in next. They are the most likely, although I think it will take years before they get in.

At this point, Jethro Tull, the Monkees, the Moody Blues, Gram Parsons
and the Zombies are about my only non-inducted, eligible favorites who
seem like top-level contenders. Not much left to root for. Most of my
other favorites just aren't mainstream-popular enough to be in the
running.

I'm not quite a Kraftwerk fan, but I'd be really happy if they were
picked anyway.

I wonder if there's a deviant on the committee who likes to push for
Captain Beefheart. Now there's a plausible induction that would thrill
me.

Jethro Tull???? That certainly is not rock and roll. In fact their
"music" sounds more like a bunch of Russians playing Mexican cantana
music. Worse than that the flute guy dressed like a psychofag and smoked
like BBQ. His breath must have smelled like my feet on a hot summer day.

Are you high? Tull early on sounded much like a flute-oriented version of Led Zeppelin. Especially on their best album Stand-Up

Listen shitface, in no way does Tull sound like Led Zeppelin. No matter
how many times you want to wank off to LZ. Stand Up sounds more like
Grand Funk than Led Zep. Get your head out of your ass you silly wog.

You are so wrapped up with Zepplin that you think Count Basie sounds

Farner sent Anderson a box of Girl Scout cookies as thanks.

They sound nothing alike. Jimmy Page isn't half the guitarist that Mark
Farner is. And Robert Plant sings like he smelled one of your farts.

I'm surprised that Kraftwerk hasn't made it yet. I could have sworn they did. Or was that Devo? Some tech synth band... I don't recall.

Moody Blues.... again, we'll have to wait for a death for THAT to happen.

Can't see why the Monkies never made it. Puns aside, that is a no-brainer.

There is not much rock in the music. But they include hip hop which is very much influenced by the likes of Kraftwerk. Listen to Numbers from Computer World.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_World

Kraftwerk's production methods are credited with influencing those of hip hop music. In addition to the sampling used in hip hop and the most prominent influence, the motorik beat, songs such as "Numbers" are likely sources of inspiration for songs such as "Get Ur Freak On" by Missy Elliott

The Monkees would be held back by their being the "Pre-Fab Four". I would have no argument with the Moody Blues, JT, or KC.

I think the HOF has an 'early influences' category, though Kraftwerk wouldn't count as 'early'. Since Tupac got in, I wouldn't rule anything out.
