Mike Portnoy's Progressive Nation tour will be in the form of a prog cruise February 2014. Acts to include Jon Anderson, Transatlantic, Spock's Beard,Kings X, Riverside ans several others.

I am curious as to whether JA will just strum and sing, or perhaps sing along with some of these players. I'd guess Transatlantic would be happy to be his band for a few tunes, as they did with Steve Hackett at the HV Festival a year or two ago.

Not meaning to be cynical, but my guess is Jon will play the same show he has been playing solo for several years now. If he plays several gigs on the cruise, maybe he'll mix up a song or two. But the odds that these other musicians will want to back up Jon's act are slim. Just my best guess

As someone else recently posted here on a.m.y., it looks as if they are planning to do just as I had wished for - the cruise' web site reports:

"Jon Anderson will take the stage with Transatlantic to perform YES classics on the final night of Progressive Nation at Sea 2014! It will be an encore you don't want to miss!"
I hope there is some video shot of this gig with JA and Transatlantic. I would not be surprised if the Transatlantic guys tell JA they'd be game to play something off the wall, aside from the usual material from Fragile, CTTE etc.
