Attended and immensely enjoyed one of the last US ARW shows.
Some days later, I was surfing various YouTube clips of some of the shows...
I also bumped into Ritual LIVE - Aug 30, 2016 - LA Orpheum:

ARW strikes me as a thriving, living entity (all 5 were clearly having *fun* - even though at least 3 of them were dealing with a cold virus!)
Yes strikes me as a bit sickly - emotionally and spiritually sickly.

Don't want to be cruel, but this is the way I see and hear it.

I have always, and still rather do, prefer Steve's work over Trevor's, but Trevor does just fine even on the Howe-based classics. Trevor was clearly having fun and bringing a lot of energy to the show. Steve's work was masterful, but any "fun/energy" seemed completely affected. Still rather miss Steve's solo bits: Clap, Sketches in the Sun, Mood for a Day - these would be a most welcome addition to any show. I'd love it if he did another solo acoustic tour, but I'd sort of guess that the ROI on that would be kind of marginal.

Jon Davidson does a fine job. Jon Anderson, ..., well, he's JON ANDERSON!

Lee Pomeroy vs Billy Sherwood - I make no judgement. Lee did good work, brought lots of enthusiasm and energy to the stage. I did/do miss Chris. Mortality: whadda ya gonna do?

Kind of the same call for Alan White and Louis Molino, except obviously Alan's essentially an original.

Which brings us to keyboards.
Again, don't want to be cruel, and I know that Geoff sometimes reads these internet things (though usenet is apparently so archaic and close to being completely obsolete ...)
Well, it's so obvious, need I say anything?
(Sorry Geoff, nothin' personal - I feel like I should write out some sincere Stuart Smalley quotes here...)

Sherwood any day of the week. NO CONTEST.

I missed his bass playing, and have him co-write with any of Howe, Davison, Downes, or even White; and there'd be a good new Yes album in two months.

Sure, the Prog Collectives stunk.

Has anyone else here listened to "Raised in Captivity"? Done in one month. My only criticism would be Billy's drums, but he is rapidly evolving there.

The Yes show I saw in Massachusetts was the best since "Songs from Tsongas". Better in some ways. My vote would be to go with double drummers.

OK, peaking at this newsgroup has me on a major ARW Youtube binge.

Trevor certainly kills it.
